From navigating concerns of mental health and addictions to guidance in education, domestic violence, counselling, and everything in between – Lori Morgan has been a voice for the silenced and an advocate for wellness. With more than twenty years of experience in working directly with people facing all sorts of barriers, Lori brings a wealth of information from a holistic and trauma-informed perspective.
Her compassion, integrity, curiosity when working with people helps them understand their emotions, to gain insight, and to explore new ways of moving forward. Her goal is always to support the client’s journey to self-understanding so they can make conscious choices about the life they want to lead.
Lori has incorporated years of experience into an anger management program, described as “life-changing” by one of her participants.
Her work with survivors of intimate partner violence led to the creation of a graphic novel “Healing the Bruises”. It is a story directed at children that makes the experience of searching for and restoring peace in a distressed family both understandable and positive. She was awarded the “Ministers Award for Leadership in Crime Prevention” for her immeasurable contribution.
Lori’s commitment to equal rights led her to become a Justice of the Peace. She loves the opportunity to marry couples and celebrate their new beginnings.

For over 2 decades, Lori Morgan has been an advocate for wellness and a voice for the silenced. She has worked directly with children and families facing all sorts of barriers, and has also rendered her expertise to youth in various residential and community programs. Being an Addiction Counsellor, she brings in the elements of integrity, genuine curiosity and a trauma informed perspective to all her counselling and facilitation sessions while working with survivors of domestic abuse and their children.
Lori’s approach with clients is to help them understand their emotions, to gain insight and to explore new ways of moving forward. She has recently developed and facilitated an Anger Management program described by one participant as ‘life changing’. She is also the author of “Healing the Bruises – an engaging graphic novel that makes the children’s experience, of searching for and restoring peace in a troubled family, understandable and positive.
Lori uses a holistic, solution focused, cognitive based perspective in her work. Her goal is always to support the client’s journey towards self-realization so they can make conscious choices about the kind of life they want to lead.
Although she has worked and lived, in many major cities including Toronto, Montreal and New York, Lori very happily refers to Halifax as “home” for the past eleven years. In 2012, Lori was awarded the “Ministers Award for Leadership in Crime Prevention” for her book “Healing the Bruises”.
